Canon Point: Finishing up consulting with the International Police on the Ultra Beast issue

History:

A general summary of the main plot.
After all that happens, Moon is contacted by an agent of the International Police, Looker, for assistance in a case he's handling - dealing with the Ultra Beasts Lusamine released on Alola. In cooperation with him and his superior, Anabel, Moon tracks down the Ultra Beasts on each island, assisted by various Trial Captains and Kahunas as she does so.

It's eventually revealed that the reason Moon was asked to perform this duty is because she's a 'Faller' - someone that has been to Ultra Space and radiates its energy. To the senses of Ultra Beasts, a Faller feels like a portal back to their home, and they will generally attack Fallers in a bid to return. (Moon is remarkably cavalier about the International Police using her as live bait for a bunch of Poke-Cthulhus.)

Upon dealing with all the Ultra Beasts - including Guzzlord, who ate a Faller several years ago - Moon was given one million dollars for her assistance and found herself at loose ends.

Personality: Moon's strong points are her unfailingly cheerful disposition, her facility in forming friendships, and her surprisingly keen eye for details. In her relationships with others - whether human or Pokemon - Moon will generally attempt to support them to the best of her ability, which is surprisingly adept for a twelve year old girl.

Occasionally, her cheerful disposition can seem somewhat offputting, owing towards her genuine interest in things most other people would consider macabre - it's one thing for a cheerful, smiling girl to talk about how fluffy the fur on her Litten is, it's another thing entirely for her to keep smiling as she describes what it looks like when her Araquanid drowns things alive in its water-bubble.

She's prone towards teasing the people she's fond of, but tends towards an attitude of 'I'm the only one allowed to do it', causing her to leap to their defense if anyone else tries. When it comes to her friends and family, Moon has a tendency to deliberately overlook their flaws, which can escalate into not being able to tell them when they're doing something she finds personally upsetting, an attitude born of fear - she believes that if she attempts to correct their behavior in any way, they'll stop being her friend.

Underlying all this is a simmering anger that mostly finds itself expressed through sarcasm and the occasional biting putdown. The ultimate source of this anger is the simple fact that her father isn't there anymore and she's not entirely sure why, although all her interactions with Lusamine certainly added to it.

EDIT

When dealing with people her age she's generally gregarious and quick to offer friendship. Once these offers are accepted, she clings to her new friends fiercely, becoming almost overzealously protective.

When dealing with people older than her, Moon tends to adopt an attitude of primarily polite neutrality as she evaluates them. Assuming they don't trip any warning flags, she'll drop her reserve and treat them in the same open and friendly manner she treats her peers.

► A Shadow can represent some of the worst parts of a person's psyche. If your character had to face their shadow, what would they have to face and how would they deal with it?

Moon's Shadow would combine her worst traits - smothering overprotectiveness, reflexive suspicion of adults, judgemental anger, and contemptuous dismissal of people she doesn't like - into a single package.

Moon's Shadow would force her to acknowledge that deep down, she doesn't trust any of the adults in her life to actually have her best interests at heart, she doesn't trust her friends to live their own lives without her guidance, and that when it comes right down to it she doesn't trust anyone she loves to willingly stay by her side.

Moon has hella trust issues, is what I'm saying. Hella.

In order to confront it at all, Moon would have to acknowledge that even though they left her behind, she still loves them and wants them to be happy. She'd have to acknowledge that it hurts, that she's lonely, and she deliberately ran away from those feelings to hide and pretend she was okay, and in the end she'd admit that the only way for it to stop hurting would be to face those feelings head-on.
